I get a lot of people asking about whether the sugar in fruits is ok since fruit is a sugar which is stored like a carb which turns into fat if not burned off (simple explanation).
Let this be your guide...
Howstuffworks.com says that the old phrase about fending off the ol' doc was first mentioned in the 1800s and is still around, so maybe it has some validity.
Apples are high in pectin, boron, quercetin, vit C, and phytonutrients which helps with blood pressure, glucose levels, healthy brain, fighting cancers, boosting immunity, and helping with asthma and diabetes. And clean teeth!
Maybe they won't be a cure all but have some benefits!
For my HLF nutrition clients, I recommend they have a healthy meal shake and vitamin at the start of their day to make sure they get all their micro and macro nutrients. And to have fruit earlier on in their day so that the sugars get burned off.
Personally, I'll eat an apple early on in the day from time to time but to stay lean, I focus on eating my dark leafy greens and lean proteins, lots of water, and supplementing with a high quality vitamin like with Herbalife.
