This might be a bit controversial but here goes...
A lot of my clients have been asking about going Gluten-Free to slim down. I did a little bit of research (I'm not a doctor- I only teach what I've seen thousands of clients get results from- myself included)
It looks like only ~1% of Americans have the autoimmune disorder that relates to the need to be gluten free, and yet the gluten-free industry was $4.2 billion this last year.
Fact: Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye and is found is just about all products.
Yes, those who's doctor says stay away from gluten, follow the doc's directions.
But I keep hearing claims that everyone should avoid gluten, that it's harmful, or that gluten will make you gain unwanted weight.
Here's what I know, grains have an amazingly high amt of vitamins and fiber, and those who eat at least 3 servings of whole grains have been known to be 30% less likely to develop type 2#diabetes.
I've noticed that some #glutenfree products actually use other not so healthy ingredients and sometimes aren't always that healthy, low in cals or carbs as you might think.
Ultimately, going gluten free may not actually help you #LoseWeight. My recommendation? Follow what your doc says, eat clean, stay active. And if you are looking for a little support on what it means to eat clean, ask a coach like me for help. I can map out an entire nutrition plan and include the herbalife products to maximize your results. Yes there are gluten free options for you 1% who have the need.
Hope this helps! Have a #happy #healthy day, friends!
