May is a traveling month for me:
Starting with a family wedding Dallas, then some family time in New Orleans and Chicago, and my niece's gradation from University of Iowa, I'm just now finding myself thrust into the constant flow of airport traffic, week-old salads, coffee, and airport popcorn, heading back to Los Angeles. Its been a hellevah week working to avoid the temptations of quick and easy food in airport terminals, rest stops, and passing restaurants. So I thought I'd share a bit on how I travel while keeping it clean and a bit on my travel meal prep game ....
Meal Prep can fly... you just have to be smart about it
Check out all the rules on TSA's website.
With my chicken and veggies, eggs and turkey, and frozen water and yogurt long gone... I made it a point to keep an eye out of grocery stores, walmart, etc to pick up grilled chicken strips and threw it on ice.
But of all the things that SAVED me this last week... its MY SHAKE! I'm SO SO SO grateful for having a shaker cup and powdery awesome healthiness that always made it through TSA and never failed me when the options were... well... dismal.
My parents held on to the belief that they were going to get a "square/solid" breakfast each day, and by the end of each meal, complained about feeling terrible, having huge tanks in the bloodsugar leaving them seeking desperately for bathrooms and a bed for a nap, or Starbucks to jumpstart themselves back to life with a caffeine and sugar laden elixir (nothing wrong with Sbux, just that with my nutrient and protein-packed shake, I was feeling alive and ready to take on the day!)
If you've never had one of the shakes, my FAVE is the Cookies & Cream with the Peanut Protein (Check them out here) or sign up for a 5 Day Eat Clean Challenge with Morning Mastery focus to try my breakfast routine for the week. I know you'll be feeling amazing!
